The Lefkoniko Sands is a modern apart hotel with a white fa�ade, located on Rethymnon's beach promenade, 700 metres from the Old Town and Fortessa. Heraklion International Airport is 75 kilometres away, and takes approximately 90 minutes to reach by car.

Both taxis and buses can be found outside the airport. Typical taxi fare should be 4 5 EUR to Heraklion City Centre; agree fare beforehand. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
Driving directions: From the airport take the National Road in the direction of Iraklion/Rethymnon and continue until the exit for Sfakaki. Take this exit and turn left and continue on the old National Road until Rethymnon. Turn right into Kafatou Street and left at the beach promenade. Lefkoniko Sands is on the left, 70 metres from the Lefkoniko Beach and Bay Hotels.
