Standing on the highway where visitors "get their kicks," as the song says, the Lodge on Route 66 in Williams, Arizona, puts guests close to the Grand Canyon Railway, antique shops, restaurants, Williams Ski Area, Snow Bowl Ski, Deer Farm, Elephant Rock Golf Course, Grand Canyon and Mainstreet Museum along this historic highway. Known as the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon," Williams is nestled in the heart of the Kaibab National Forest at an elevation of 6,770 feet. Recreational enthusiasts also are close to seven lakes and near plenty of opportunities for fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, alpine skiing, cross country ski trails, abundant wildlife, and phenomenal sunrises and sunsets.

The Lodge features nine guestrooms and nine suites, keeping with the entire building's Southwestern architecture. The rooms feature fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, 100 percent cotton linens, pillow top mattresses, oak hardwood or travertine flooring, and flat screen TVs. Lovers and business travelers who need extra space can book the hotel's executive suite, which includes a Turkish Travertine bathroom with jetted tub.

Guests can enjoy expanded continental breakfasts of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, bottled water, muffins, Danish, fruit, yogurt, cereals and breakfast bars. The Lodge on Route 66 is about 35 miles from the airport in Flagstaff, Ariz., and 178 miles from Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
