Location. Nestled in a tropical garden on landscaped grounds, the Heron House provides a romantic hideaway in the historic district of Key West, Fla. Guests are one block from the restaurants, shops and nightlife found on Duval Street, five blocks from the Key West Aquarium and six blocks from the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. Key West International Airport is four miles from the property.
Hotel Features. Old world craftsmanship and architectural detailing pervades in the Heron House's d�cor. A floor patterned with herons graces a welcoming reception area where rattan seating and neutral accents in slate, black and cream complete the contemporary look. The property boasts an orchid nursery and tropical gardens with more than 1,000 rare plant specimens from around the world. A sparkling heated pool offers an idyllic setting where daily continental breakfast buffets are served. Days can be spent relaxing on a second story sundeck, while weekend evenings from June 1 through October 19 offer a complimentary cheese and wine hour. Heron House features a nightly social hour October 20 through May 31. A full service concierge is provided. Wardrobes can be refreshed by a dry cleaning service. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the breezeway.
Guestrooms. Set in four, two story buildings, each of the 23 individually decorated guestrooms and suites feature fine woodwork, custom lighting and rich, multihued fabrics. Contributing to the tropical ambiance are stained glass panels and artwork depicting local Key West scenes. Private granite and tile bathrooms sport designer toiletries and bathrobes. Some rooms feature French doors, private decks and balconies, while all accommodations include cable televisions and CD players. Turndown service is available.
